HAPPY TAILS

A Happy Tail is culmination of all the hard work of staff and volunteers to find a loving home for these and all our pets. Your generosity through gifts and donations to PAWS makes all of this possible.

If you have a Happy Tail you would like to share please email us your adoption story and a photo to info@conchovalleypaws.org

Nacho - This little chi boy was abandoned outside our facility, but now lives in a loving home with a young boy, his mom and other fursiblings. He’s a happy little guy and he’s full of attitude.
Cullen - This 6 year old male cat was surrendered to the shelter by his owners who no longer wanted him. Weighing almost 20 pounds and declawed, this boy was scheduled to be euthanized because the city shelter no longer had room to house him. One of our volunteers recognized that Cullen had one of the best cat temperaments they had ever seen. So Cullen was rescued. Cullen spends every night sleeping on a pillow he shares with his new mom.
Zuko - This little terrier boy was rescued on his last day at the shelter. After finding him of petfinder, his mom traveled over 200 miles to meet him and take him home. He is now living the charmed life in a house full of grandkids.
Jolie was pregnant when she came to rescue. Because of her pregnancy, Jolie was scheduled to be euthanized by animal control because she couldn’t be adopted. Luckily, because of coordinated effort with rescuers and animal control staff, Jolie was saved. She was able to give birth to her babies in a foster home and nurture them until they were old enough to be adopted. Jolie and her babies were transferred to Shih Tzu Furbabies Rescue where they were adopted out to wonderful families. Jolie now appears in professional modeling photographs advertising her family’s clothing business.
Max was turned over to the shelter because his mother got married and the new husband didn’t want a dog. Because the shelter was full, Max’s card was immediately marked “euthanized”. Rescuers in the shelter found Max right before he was to be destroyed. They pulled him for rescue and now Max is enjoying a beautiful life in South Carolina with three boys.
Rory came to rescue after a terrible car accident killed her owner. Rory spent one night in her foster home before her foster parent’s called and said they wanted to adopt her and give her a forever home. She spends her days playing and cuddling with her best friend who is a blind shihtzu.
Aimee was abandoned at a local vet clinic when her owners discovered she was having babies – any day. Aimee was placed in foster care where she finished her pregnancy and delivered. Her special foster allowed Aimee to live with her until all the babies were weaned and adopted. Then it was Aimee’s turn to start over in wonderful home. Aimee completes the lives of her new mom and dad.
Bliss was scheduled to be euthanized at the city shelter when rescue discovered her. Her rear leg was severely atrophied and it was obvious she would require some vet care. Her foster agreed to take Bliss in and offered to pay for her surgeries. Bliss had to have her leg amputated and the bullet that caused the injury was still lodged in the bone. Bliss is doing beautifully as a tri-pod. She is a happy girl and is very bonded to her mom. She completed therapy dog training last summer. Bliss makes everyone smile.
BooBoo was a little bitty thing when she was found wandering the parking lot in front of Hastings. Good Samaritans found her and took her in as a cold front with frigid temperatures had blown into the area. Her owners couldn’t be found, so we assume she was intentionally left behind. BooBoo is now queen of her new home.
